Duchess of York Visit
We had the incredible honour of hosting the Duchess of York on Wednesday 13th December 2023.
During her visit the Duchess spent time at our breakfast club serving some very excited children their breakfast, she also spent time talking to them about school. She watched a performance from the school choir, our dance team and she spent time around the campfire at our Forest School area, finding out about outdoor learning and growing vegetables.
The Forest School boasts an orchard, outdoor classroom, mud kitchen, bird hides, minibeast area, trim trail, relaxing hammocks, and swings.
The Duchess heard about the work of Padiham GP Dr James Fleming, a former winner of ‘GP of the Year’, who started the 'Fresh Food Initiative' to encourage children to eat organically. Our pupils grow their own fresh food and we have developed our school grounds to create a beautiful, wildlife-rich environment which allows pupils to eat vegetables that they have grown from scratch.
We have attached some photos for our families to see.
