PSHE Curriculum at Padiham Green
The purpose of PSHE is to allow all our children to learn and develop key life skills, readying them for the next stage of their life and by the end of their journey at Padiham Green, aiding them to mature into adulthood and to become active global citizens.
The curriculum is designed to allow all children to learn, develop and use skills they need to help them when faced with the experiences and challenges day to day life brings. Our curriculum is personalised to ensure all our children are able to access it. The personalisation of the curriculum ensures that we provide all learners with the opportunity and challenge to develop their own character, incorporating the importance of British values and equality and diversity.
Our curriculum intends to allow children to make informed choices for themselves about all areas of life, particularly healthy living and their career choices. PSHE runs through all that we do at and our personalised curriculum shows how PSHE links to many areas of school life. Children are taught PSHE not only through direct PSHE sessions but through whole-school activities such as worship. We also teach the life skills PSHE provides through a selection of other subjects; including science and RE to ensure the personal development of our children is at the heart of all that we do.
At Padiham Green we firmly believe that a meaningful and personalised PSHE curriculum is the key to children becoming confident, tolerant and well-rounded adults, who are equipped with knowledge, skills and attributes to help navigate themselves through modern life.
